Mars Volta and Album Art

Many artists have lost touch with creative and thought provoking album art.  They feel they can slap together seven highly edited songs and cover it with some half assed picture of the band, or quirky fonts on a solid background.  The Mars Volta, however, have not lost touch with this important aspect of releasing an album.

Whisker Twister

Dubstep is now overplayed and slowly being mainstreamed.  When I first got into it I thought it was gold.  Yet the more my friends listen to it, the more I hate it ... I guess the radio can do that to any genre.  Regardless, enjoy the song and ignore my pessimistic rant.

Death From Above 1979 - You're a Woman I'm a Machine

DFA 1979 is a dance punk duo out of Toronto.  The songs featured on this album are the perfect combination of indie rock and electronic influence.  You can  get lost listening to this band, intricate yet simple bass and synth are emphasized in every track.  The songs "Black History Month" and "Romantic Rights" can be sometimes caught on MTV2 and alternative radio stations, but I recommend listening to the rest of the album to get the true effect.
